When Porsche’s engineers were finally allocated the resources to develop the 911 after years of stagnation in the early 1980s, progress was swift. First came the 964 in 1989, which brought numerous performance and drivability updates the car had been lacking. Fast on its heels came the 993 in 1994 – a car that has since become renowned for its status as the final air-cooled 911.
