The 997 generation Porsche 911 is still a true 911. Compact, light, agile. And thank goodness for that, we might say. Yet there is no denying that this is a model of the future. Of course, the round headlights have a retro look, but they are actually Bi-Xenon headlights. It’s wonderful to see how Porsche seamlessly blends the old and the new. This stunning example also features the sought-after center-lock 19-inch RS Spyder wheels from the Turbo S, with a black Porsche emblem in the wheel hub. Moreover, this pairs perfectly with the Meteor Grey Metallic bodywork—including exterior mirrors painted to match the body. Black trim accents, plus the Porsche lettering on the rear of the wide fenders, carry the mysterious hue through to the finest details of this 911 Carrera GTS’s sleek silver finish.
Inside, the passion for design and technology continues in style: black leather upholstery combined with beautiful Alcantara—including the headliner—finished with black stitching, tastefully winds its way through the high-tech Carrera GTS cockpit. The Porsche emblem is featured on the front headrests. The analog gauges and the clock from the Sport Chrono package are delightfully distinctive. This stunning Porsche is also equipped with an electric sunroof.
// Technology
And of course, the king of German sports cars is equipped with every convenience, including Porsche Communication Management (PCM), LED daytime running lights, exterior and interior mirrors with automatic dimming and rain sensors, Sport Design front trim, exterior mirrors, central locking, and rear parking assist. Options geared more toward pure performance are also plentiful: a 10 mm lowered PASM sports suspension, Sport Chrono Package, Porsche Stability Management (PSM), and the sports exhaust system—we’ve already mentioned those. It also features a 90-liter fuel tank. So you can keep going for a long time.
No matter how good the Bose sound system sounds, the roar of 408 blood-pumping horses in the back always takes precedence. Listen closely to how the turbocharged 3.8-liter 6-cylinder boxer engine does its work as it shoots past 100 km/h from a standstill in 4.5 seconds, and you’ll understand exactly what we mean. The rear-wheel-drive 911 Carrera GTS keeps shifting through its 8-speed automatic transmission until it reaches a top speed of 305 km/h. Isn’t it great how fast time flies…
