There are people who buy a VW Bus T1 Samba for over €100,000. It looks really cute, but the pretty tin can has just 30 – 44 hp at the most, and compared to the gearshift, the mixer on a Kitchen Aid is a precision instrument. And we're not even talking about the Titanic-like steering (lots of turning, little reaction). Hmm, yes, you can buy one, but you can also leave it.
Especially when you get a whopping 480 hp for less money, packaged more beautifully than a Cartier necklace. Inside, you are surrounded by luxury and fine natural leather, and you can easily spend an hour with the analogue manual printed on real paper. There is also something for your ears, either from the 42 speakers of the Bose sound system or from the special (registered) flap exhaust of this Porsche. There are cars that have a button to turn the exhaust up. This one has a button to turn the exhaust down. The car has pretty much everything and can do anything you can think of. Plus the stylish color combination that Ettore Sottsass couldn't have chosen better.
The Porsche Turbo Cabriolet offered here was delivered to its first owner in Remscheid in 2008. In 2012, the fast convertible was sold to a businessman in Solingen, and in 2017 it was taken over by his wife, on whose behalf we are now allowed to sell this Porsche. The car is accident-free and has run a total of 19,734 km. The signs of wear and tear are correspondingly minimal, and the optical character of a used car is correspondingly high – a dream car!
Why so few kilometers? Well, it is the tragic fate of entrepreneurs and business people that they work so much that they can no longer enjoy all the fruits of their labor. There is simply not enough time and if you have a nice, wide garage or several of them and they are well filled, then the individual car does not drive many kilometers a year because there is so much choice. Wives are not quite as receptive to super sports cars as we men are. And let's be honest, a 480 turbo horsepower car just doesn't fit in with Edeka. You don't go out to plough the fields with a racehorse either.
Is there a catch? Not really, but the buyer should have an inspection done, the last one was at 17,612 km and was several years ago. The front tires were manufactured in 2011, the rear tires were manufactured in 2012, and the tread is still good. Proof of the authentically low mileage.
