PORSCHE 997 MK 1.5 TURBO
It is quite common for most car models to undergo a facelift somewhere halfway through production. Porsche is no exception. It is often a series of small updates to freshen up a car that has been in production for a few years. But in the case of the 997 mk1 versus mk2 Turbo, the differences were quite large. It was namely that the mk1 was the last Turbo to get a Mezger engine. An engine praised for its robustness. The updated car got there to balnd other an updated interior where you saw a significant lift in the center console and more. But it is in 2008, when the updated model is about to go into production that something rather strange happens in the Porsche factory. There is a mistake somewhere in the workflow and an estimated 200 mk1 Turbo cars leave the factory with most of the new interior but otherwise as mk1s. These cars came to be known as 997 Turbo mk1.5. This example is one of them!
