Elferspot market check: You should keep an eye on these three Porsches

The Porsche market in 2026 is much more differentiated than in previous years. While some models are correcting noticeably after the strong price movements of recent years, others remain surprisingly stable or are even picking up again. A look at the Elferspot market data for the past three years shows three models that stand out in 2026: the Porsche 996 Turbo, the Porsche 993 Carrera 4S and the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS. Three completely different Porsches – and three very different market situations.

Porsche 996 Turbo – Formerly inexpensive, today stable in price and more in demand than ever

For a long time, the Porsche 996 Turbo was considered the comparatively affordable entry into the world of 911 Turbo models. The Mezger engine, all-wheel drive, enormous suitability for everyday use and a performance level that is still impressive today have always made it an exceptionally complete sports car. However, it took almost 20 years for it to be appreciated by the market.

Once controversial, now cult: its unique design makes the 996 Turbo a solitaire. With 420 hp and its compact dimensions, it still cuts a great figure even after more than 25 years. David Fierlinger, Elferspot

It is now clear that the Porsche 996 Turbo has found its place. Over the past three years, the price level has remained remarkably stable, although the number of vehicles on offer has increased significantly. At the same time, downtimes have become noticeably shorter. In plain language, this means that demand for the first water-cooled Turbo 911 is increasing significantly. An indication that prices will soon continue to rise?

Since the start of 2026, the median price of the 996 Turbo has already risen from around €70,000 in January/February to almost €80,000 in April/May. The downtime almost halved compared to the previous year. In 2024 and 2025, the sales process took 60 and 54.5 days respectively. In 2026, the 996 Turbo on offer sold within 28 days on average. This is not proof of a sustained price rally, but it is a clear signal. The cheap 911 Turbos built between 2000 and 2005 could soon be a thing of the past.

While the prices of the 996 Turbo have remained stable recently, the model is becoming noticeably more important on the market. Vehicles with a good history and attractive specifications are more in demand than ever and are selling more and more quickly. The previously inexpensive entry into the turbo world is evidently gradually developing into a recognized classic.

Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS – From object of speculation to driver’s car

There was great joy in November 2021 when Porsche presented the first RS model based on the Cayman. After all, the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS had the same engine as the 992 GT3. However, the euphoria surrounding the sharpest Cayman also had its downsides. Demand was initially very high, with many vehicles being traded above list price. The GT4 RS became an object of speculation!

However, Porsche also sold the fast Cayman in large numbers. More and more 718 Cayman GT4 RSs came onto the market. The result? The GT4 RS has clearly returned from its former hype level – prices have fallen. From a median price of around 203,500 euros between 2023 and 2024, prices have fallen to around 168,000 euros in the last twelve months. Even accident-free vehicles with low mileage are already appearing on the market for around 140,000 euros.

Price correction completed?

This development makes the GT4 RS, which is already beyond any doubt in terms of driving performance, more interesting again for enthusiasts. And this is reflected in demand. After the sales period had meanwhile developed to over three months, Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS 2026 sells in an average of 43.5 days.

The 150,000 euro mark could possibly mean a price plateau for the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS.

The price hype may have died down, but the fascination remains. The time to buy a GT4 RS could therefore be right. Because it will probably not fall below the price level of the GT4 or GTS 4.0. Anyone who buys a GT4 RS as a driver’s car for less than 150,000 euros, for example, will probably already have most of the loss in value behind them.

Porsche 993 Carrera 4S – Luftgekühlt, wide and loved by (almost) everyone

The Porsche 993 Carrera 4S has many of the features that have electrified the collectors’ market for years: the last air-cooled 911 generation, the turbo-wide body, all-wheel drive and a look that is very close to the 993 Turbo – just without the large spoiler. At the same time, the naturally aspirated engine offers a somewhat more emotional soundscape and is also relatively uncomplicated to maintain. It is precisely this mixture that makes it particularly attractive to many buyers.

The data for the past three years shows a clear trend. The median price of the 993 Carrera 4S has risen significantly, while at the same time more vehicles have been offered. What is particularly remarkable is that, despite the growing number of vehicles on offer, they have recently been sold more quickly. On average, only 24.5 days passed between advertisement and sale in the last 12 months. Hardly any 911 sells faster.

One of the most sought-after 911s on the market

This makes the 993 Carrera 4S the clear climber in this selection. A price jump from around 121,000 euros to just under 145,000 euros in three years – with a simultaneous increase in supply – is a strong signal. Normally, more supply can have a price-dampening effect. This was not the case with the 993 Carrera 4S.

The reason probably lies in the special status of the model. The 993 Carrera 4S is not an extremely rare special model, but it has a combination of characteristics that is highly sought after on the market. Luftgekühlt, wide, suitable for everyday use, visually close to the Turbo and yet somewhat more discreet in appearance. However, the equipment and condition are decisive. Particularly for vehicles in rare colors or with very low mileage, significant premiums are sometimes paid.

While some Luftgekühlt 911s are currently experiencing a price correction or have apparently reached a plateau, the 993 Carrera 4S is making significant gains at the start of the year. There is currently no end in sight.

Three models, three different perspectives – the Porsche market is changing

Instead of general trends, the Porsche market in 2026 shows some significant deviations from previous years. Some vehicles are no longer achieving the high price levels of a few years ago. Some will become more expensive despite a larger supply, others will stabilize after years of underestimation, and still others will come back from speculative price levels. The Porsche 993 Carrera 4S, 996 Turbo and 718 Cayman GT4 RS are examples of this and, despite different reasons, are all similarly exciting.

Anyone looking for a Porsche today should therefore take a closer look. Because the market is becoming increasingly differentiated. There are again major differences, sometimes even within the model series. Model, history, equipment and condition are all the more important.
