Owned by Tuesday Weld in the 1990s who was a famous American actress (1955-2001) who won a Golden Globe, Academy Award, Emmy Award and many other awards. This 356B Cabriolet was then purchased by Mr. Cottrell in 2004. This 356 was deemed to be the perfect choice to restore. According to the invoices on file, all parts were sourced from Stoddard. Jimmy’s Classic Cars performed a bare metal respray in the original color of Signal Red, and the original VDO gauges were sent out to North Hollywood Speedometer. The leather upholstery work was finished by Auto’s International in Escondido, California. Cottrell Racing Engines rebuilt the driveline and completed the final assembly.

The paintwork is in amazing condition with no major imperfections. The gaps and panel fit are excellent. The headlight lenes, turn signals, taillights, reflectors, and glass all exhibit the original markings and are in excellent condition. The interior features black leather seats complemented by black door panels, dash, rear seats and charcoal German square weave carpeting. The interior is equipped with factory VDO instrumentation, a VDM Carrera 2 wooden steering wheel, deluxe chrome horn ring, matching wood shift knob, Sapphire II AM/FM radio, and Tan cocoa mats. The 4.5” x 15” chrome wheels with Super hubcaps are mounted to Dunlop 165 SR 15 tires.

Within the last 2000 miles, recent services include:
• Rebuilt the front brakes.
• Install new spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor, and points.
• Lubricate the suspension.
• Replace the shift coupler bushings.
• Repair the horn.
• Replace valve cover gaskets.

Mechanically powered by a matching 1600cc SUPER engine (Type 616/2) producing 75 horse power with a smooth shifting manual 4-speed transmission (Type 741) and four-wheel drum braking system.
