The Porsche 918 Spyder is undeniably one of the defining hypercars of its era. Succeeding the Carrera GT as Porsche’s halo model, it forged a new path to glory as a pioneering performance hybrid; one that would shape both Porsche’s performance philosophy and the broader supercar landscape of the 2020s.

Unveiled as a concept at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show and officially debuting in production form at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, the 918 Spyder was one of three new hypercars alongside the Ferrari LaFerrari and the McLaren P1, that combined plug-in hybrid technology with top-of-the-line performance. The 918 was powered by a naturally aspirated 4.6-liter V8 derived from the dominant RS Spyder Le Mans prototype itself making 608 PS and capable of a 9,000 rpm redline. For the first time however, it would be accompanied by two electric motors—one providing power at each axle—that provided a combined output of 887 PS and 1,280 Nm of torque through Porsche’s proven seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. Fittingly, Porsche created 918 examples of its hypercar at the Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen plant, all of them hand-assembled.

This 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder is finished in the rare shade of Liquid Metal Chrome Blue with a Mocha Brown leather interior and silver accents. The finish itself added CHF 63’000 to the 918’s already grand price, and, as such, only three examples were ordered in this stunning color and interior combination. Highlights from its list of desirable options, totaling tens of thousands of Swiss Francs, include the Authentic Leather Interior, Front Axle Lift System, Carbon Fiber Interior Package, stone chip protection film, and the Glare Reducing Interior Package.

One of only 31 examples originally bound for Switzerland, this car was delivered to its first owner in June 2014 through Porsche Lausanne Centre. Due to the desires of its first owner, 918 number 389 currently wears factory lightweight BBS magnesium alloy wheels typically reserved for cars optioned with the Weissach Package. This later upgrade cost the original owner an additional CHF 64’000 and dropped the 918’s weight by nearly 15 kilograms. Its original owner drove it sparingly and accrued just 5,500 kilometers during their care, regularly servicing the car at Porsche Zentrum Zug. It has since been driven regularly and was recently serviced in May 2025 by Porsche Zentrum Maienfeld.

In September 2025, the car received an inspection from Jochen Bader, former manager of Porsche Classic. The prominent Porsche expert confirmed this 918’s rarity and reported the car as “very well maintained” and “in mint condition.” Bader reports this example as accident free and that it has never been tracked or repainted. The PPI notes only a few minor rock chips in the wheel arches and on the rear fender that are typical due to the advanced aerodynamic ducting in and around the wheel wells. This stunning 918 is now offered with its original leather pouch with service book and owner’s manuals, and its odometer displays 6,452 kilometers at cataloging.

Finished in such an eye-catching and premium color combination, bristling with desirable ease of use options, and a pedigree as one of the most important performance cars of its generation, this low-mileage Porsche 918 Spyder is a blue-chip collectible destined to be a crown jewel in any respectable collection.
