The new 3.6-litre six-cylinder boxer engine is an extension of the existing drivetrain of the 992 series. Thanks to the use of the electric turbocharger, the engine can respond more directly and efficiently. This system ensures virtually no turbo lag, because the compressor pressure is already built up before the exhaust gases provide sufficient energy. This means that the power is released more quickly and the driver can count on an impressive torque curve that starts early in the rev range.

Although the focus of this facelift is mainly on the engine innovations, Porsche has also made a number of adjustments to the road behaviour. Think of standard rear-axle steering. Porsche has also implemented a number of subtle yet characteristic design adjustments in the facelift GTS that give the GTS an even sportier look. The adjusted bumpers, new light units and redesigned air intakes provide a fresher look, while the wide wheel arches and low stance that make the GTS so characteristic are retained.
