Known as option code M491, the costly Supersport package offered aggressive wider wheel arches, rear spoiler and wider Fuchs wheels, it also included cross-drilled discs with four-piston aluminium callipers and suspension taken directly from the 911 Turbo.
The option to upgrade to M491 had a £10,000 premium over the standard 3.2 Carrera. This particular low mileage example has covered just 77,800 miles from new, with every past MOT on file to warrant the mileage. It also benefits from full service history, completed by Porsche specialists at regular intervals, all fully documented in the comprehensive history folder. The car was professionally repainted in 2012 by Specialist Cars of Malton Ltd, this included a complete strip down, repaint in the original colour and rebuild with all new rubbers etc. Invoices are on file for this work totalling over £8,000.
The car still presents superbly today, with just the smallest of cosmetic marks conducive with age. The interior is still like new with no damage or repairs. The 915 gearbox was rebuilt by specialists Eporsch Ltd in June 2020 and is a joy to use. They have also taken care of recent servicing requirements, the last being a major service carried out in July 2022. The car drives superbly, feeling tight and precise on the road. The engine pulls very well and shows no signs of any smoke nor is it dropping any oil whatsoever. The refurbished 16inch Fuchs are shod in recent Toyo Proxy tyres, all with over 6mm of tread remaining. The car is completely solid throughout and presents particularly well. Supplied with the original book pack and stamped service book, 2 keys, tool kit, jack and folder detailing the service history. MOT valid until July 2023 with no advisories. In summary, a beautiful, low mileage example or a rare 911 in excellent order throughout, ready to be enjoyed.
