Porsche 911 T

Porsche 911 T

Targa, 1971

Punti salienti

  • Very original example
  • Most popular Targa version
  • Signal Orange

Porsche attracted considerable attention when they unveiled the groundbreaking 911 Targa at the Frankfurt International Motor Show in September 1965. This particular car threw all traditional categories overboard – it was not just a convertible, coupe, hardtop or sedan. Instead, it introduced the concept of a safe convertible with a fixed roll bar. The name “Targa” was a nod to Porsche’s impressive racing history, especially the Targa Florio road race in Sicily, where they shone since the mid-1950s. Among its peers, the T variant is a frequent choice for Targa enthusiasts who want an everyday ride that not only rides smoothly during leisurely drives, but also offers an incredibly enjoyable driving experience.

Il veicolo in dettaglio

Today, originality and patina are core concepts for true Porsche 911 enthusiasts. This example, with its beautiful patina and even partially still the first paint, is exactly what every enthusiast is looking for.
A first look at the car quickly reveals that it has never been fully restored. The interior of the car is unseen original. It is truly impressive how many original elements are still preserved. The original dashboard, unreplaced carpets, beautiful perforated faux leather seats and even the correctly stamped Mahle gas burner spare tire are all still present. Even the chrome parts still look great! Of course, with an unrestored car like this, you can expect perfect imperfections here and there, and the exceptionally beautifully patinated signal orange paint is a fine example of this. It is even still partially original and shows that this 911 has already had an affectionate life. This top car was itself equipped with the extremely rare and correctly stamped Mahle gas burner rims cost a fortune and are practically untraceable today. These Mahle rims were made of magnesium and were the lightest rims you could have your sporty 911 and certainly did the handling good. Clearly, then, someone who took this pricey option had only the best of the best in mind with his car.
Of course, the beautiful patina does not mean that this car will not perform as well. On the contrary, the air-cooled 2.2-liter six-cylinder boxer engine has been completely overhauled and delivers excellent performance today. Combine this with the rare and correct Zenith 40 TIN carburetors that you almost never find on these cars today and this makes for an unparalleled driving experience every time. Ready for many more carefree miles!

If you are looking for a very original but also a hugely qualitative and perfectly driving Porsche 911, this is the car to have. Come discover it now at Rock ‘n Roll Classics and who knows, you might soon be enjoying this beautiful example.
