The Porsche 996 is a car we have come to appreciate more and more – and apparently we are not the only ones. As time passes and newer models appear, the 996 has suddenly attracted renewed interest from many enthusiasts. People quickly realize again that this is a true Porsche – one that not only offers plenty of driving pleasure for the money, but also stands for reliability, value retention and safety.
This Porsche 996 Carrera 4S Coupé was originally delivered in the Netherlands in 2003. In recent years, the car was part of a colleague’s private collection before being sold to an enthusiast. It was then offered to us in part exchange – and as we always like to have beautiful and unique 911 models of all generations, we gladly welcomed it. The car has been fully inspected and recently received a service at around 98,000 km. The IMS bearing was preventively replaced at approximately 85,000 km.

This 996 4S is a very complete car with the right and desirable options that could be ordered at the time. It is far from a base model, but instead a very well-equipped Porsche. Highlights include the 3.6-liter engine, leather package, Xenon lighting, and a sports exhaust with trim pieces that deliver a truly sporty sound.
Driving the 4S is pure joy. The all-wheel drive system provides a reassuring feel and ensures control in every situation, distributing power between the front and rear wheels in ratios ranging from five to forty percent. The differences between the standard Carrera and the Carrera 4S can be seen both in design and technology. The 4S is instantly recognizable by its wide rear haunches. The rear fenders are 60 mm wider than on the standard model and look superb. This width is further emphasized by the continuous reflector strip between the taillights. Braking performance is phenomenal, as the 4S uses the same braking system as the 911 Turbo.
The car comes from a genuine enthusiast and has clearly always been stored in a heated garage. Previous owners consistently entrusted maintenance to Porsche dealers or recognized specialists. It is therefore obvious that this is a true enthusiast’s car.
