The 993 was the last of the air cooled era of the 911 and reputably the car that nearly broke the company because of the incredible quality engineered into every variant. The watercooled models that followed were a commercial success and Porsche were soon back in the black, but that magic honed from granite feel of the 993 would never feature in a 911 again.
