According to the Porsche Classic Technical Certificate issued by Porsche Jacksonville in April 2025, this mid-engine 1970 Porsche 914/6 was originally finished in the highly desirable shade of Signal Orange over a Black leatherette interior. Factory fitted options noted on the CTC include a leather steering wheel, U.S.-band Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio, and tinted glass all around. The car was also equipped with option code C13, noted as “Equipment for New York/California” and believed to be emissions related. The Certificate further reveals that the engine (6404750) and transmission (7501266) are noted to be the original matching-numbers units. In addition, the last four digits of the Karmann body number (131267) stamped on the rear trunk floor are very closely aligned with those of transmission number, a link between body and powertrain well-known among 914/6 enthusiasts. Prior to its current ownership of seven years, this matching numbers 914/6 received a thorough and comprehensive photo-documented restoration in its original livery of Signal Orange over Black. Its five-digit odometer records 2,264 kilometers—the total believed to have been accumulated since restoration’s completion.
Most recently, and in preparation for the sale, the mid-engine six visited Joe Frazar Sports Car Services for a rebuild of its dual Weber carburetors, an ignition tune, new spark plugs, and a replacement fuse box. The Porsche 914/6 offers an attractive, mid-engine alternative to the early 911, and this nicely restored and well-documented example, with recent sorting of its air-cooled flat-six, presents an especially compelling choice.
