Introduced in late 1994, the 993-generation Porsche 911 Carrera retained a 3.6-liter M64 flat-six engine from the 964, upgraded with hydraulic lifters and a new exhaust for 272 hp. Around 23,000 coupes, 15,500 cabriolets, and 4,500 Targas were built, offered with manual or Tiptronic automatic transmissions. The 993 was replaced by the 996 Carrera in 1998.
The 993 was the last air-cooled “true” 911, blending classic design with modern comfort and performance. The base Carrera featured smoother lines, round headlights, flared rear fenders, and an automatic rear spoiler. Inside, a slightly revised 964 interior offered sport seats, a 4-spoke steering wheel, and a five-dial instrument cluster. Mechanically, the M64 flat-six had a new bottom end, hydraulic valves, heat-resistant aluminum heads, and twin catalytic converters. A revised suspension, including an aluminum subframe and wishbone rear setup, improved handling and allowed motorsport development.
Our car started it´s life in Japan in February 1995. In June 2008 and at 87 500 km the car was imported to Finland by Elferklassik, and has had two owners since. The car is in a really nice original condition. It has a RS-style rear wing and Turbo Twist wheels, but the original Cup wheels and spoiler are still with the car and can be reinstalled if desired. At 50 052 km the cars odometer was changed, and this is documented in the service book that is still with the car.
The Polar Silver exterior pairs fantastic with the Classic Grey leather interior, making a true classic last of the breed aircooled 911.
