All references to the history below can be verified on request using documents, pictures and invoices.
The interior of the vehicle in particular has remained almost as good as new since a restoration in 1989.
Finally, all necessary technical work has been carried out in recent years by a qualified classic car expert.
An excerpt from the evaluated history (in rough terms):
1958 – 1990:
The Porsche is transferred to California, USA. There are numerous photographs showing the vehicle with the Californian license plate.
February 1989:
The second owner carries out a comprehensive restoration. The work included:
– painting and sealing the vehicle,
-fitting new floor carpets and mats and reupholstering the seats in imported black vinyl to the original pattern,
– Additionally the engine was overhauled at 96,000 miles, a Mahle 1750cc piston kit fitted, new Weber carburettors installed, new CIBIE headlights fitted and a gearbox service carried out.
July 1989:
Vehicle sold to the third owner in England.
1991 – 1992:
Vehicle purchased in England from a Porsche 356 specialist by the fourth owner. Numerous invoices and MOT documents from this period are available.
The vehicle becomes a member of the Porsche 356 Registry Club (until 2010).
1992 – 2010:
During this period there are numerous maintenance receipts and MOT documents, which were created at intervals of a maximum of 12-24 months.
2010:
The vehicle is sold to the fifth owner. It was then exported to Germany.
In Germany the vehicle underwent extensive maintenance, particularly on the carburettors and the fuel pump.
March 7th, 2011:
Acceptance of an H-registration and performance of a general inspection in Germany with no defects found.
March 29th, 2011:
Issuance of a Porsche birth certificate, which confirms that it is a German vehicle and that the "matching numbers" are present.
April 7 , 2011:
A Classic Data expert report gives the overall condition of the vehicle a grade of 2.
May 17, 2013:
Vehicle sold to the current owner.
2013 to 2024:
Vehicle used for occasional trips on vacation, numerous MOT and service documents are available for the entire period. Vehicle serviced by Sportwagenservice Karosserie Stimming GmbH.
2024:
Current service and MOT completed.
Other :
A contemporary rear luggage rack is also included in the sale price.
