This beautiful 1960 Porsche 356 was originally delivered to Alabama, USA, and was imported to Finland in 2009. The car underwent a comprehensive, no-expense-spared restoration in 2010 and has since been meticulously maintained by its current owner for the past 14 years.
Restoration & Condition
The body was stripped to bare metal, repaired with new sheet metal where required, and finished using traditional lead loading techniques. The interior was completely renewed to original standards.
The engine number confirms that the engine is from the same production year as the car. During the rebuild, the cylinders and pistons were replaced, increasing displacement to 1,720 cc. The engine is fitted with 9.0:1 compression pistons (original specification was 7.5:1), cast-iron cylinder barrels with aluminum cooling fins, and all valve springs, bearings, and the oil pump were renewed. The transmission was inspected internally and found to be in excellent condition.
The restoration was extensively documented with photographs and featured in a three-part article series in the magazine of the Finnish Porsche Club.
