In 1952, the car was shipped to Belgium to the dealer D’Ieteren with a Type 506 1,300 cm³ engine (shipped in parts due to customs regulations). The sunroof was likely installed by D’Ieteren in Belgium prior to the initial delivery. At the time, D’Ieteren was the Belgian importer for Porsche and a major coachbuilder; later, they also built the D’Ieteren Convertible and Roadster for Porsche.
First delivery to Comtesse Cornet De Ways-Ruart on November 20, 1952 (photos from the archive are available). According to the Kardex records, the car was involved in a complex goodwill repair in 1953/1954. The stamped engine number is that of a replacement engine, so the car was likely fitted with the new engine—which is still installed today—by the factory at that time.
The car is painted in its original color (Fish Silver) and features carpet and leather in the original color.
A mechanical odometer and trip computer are installed and can be removed in just a few simple steps.
After restoration, the car was stored in a special, climate-controlled garage.
