1974 Porsche 911 2.7 Targa Hot Rod
A characterful and very usable 911 Targa with huge potential, this left hand drive example started life as a German market car, later exported to the USA before being imported to the UK. Showing 135,000 miles, it has benefitted from over £25,000 of recent investment and is now an exciting project ready for the next stage of its journey.
Originally supplied in the very rare and desirable colour Lime Green code 137 (otherwise known as Birch Green), traces of which remain visible beneath the later US applied red repaint. The car presents well overall but would benefit from cosmetic improvement on close inspection, offering the opportunity to return it to its original colour or further develop the hot rod theme. Mechanically, the car has seen significant recent work. The fuel system has been overhauled with a rebuilt metering head, warm up regulator and new injectors. The engine has been removed, resealed with new gaskets and refreshed with various replacement components, and a new clutch has been fitted. The brake calipers have also been rebuilt. The car runs and drives very well, having recently completed a 130 mile journey without issue, although it must be noted that as with many flat six engines, there is currently an oil leak present.
