A Porsche 911 S from the era when Porsche first introduced the S version with a 30 hp power increase in the 2-liter engine. The Porsche 911s built from 1964 to 1967 were designated as the 0 Series.
A total of 3,422 coupes of this model were built from September 1966 to August 1967. With chassis numbers ranging from 30510015 to 308523, this totals 3,422 vehicles.
Engine numbers for S models range from 960001 to 961178. Thus, 1,177 coupes in the S version were delivered. (This information is taken from the book “Porsche 911: The Original” by Hell Verlag.)
Some special features of the 1967 2-liter 911 S. Short wheelbase = 2211 through the 1969 model; long wheelbase = 2271 through the 1973 model
The first change to the dashboard:
Leather steering wheel, plastic insert instead of wood, and the “911” lettering in block letters. The green instrument panel lettering from the 356 remained unchanged.
Starting with the 1968 model year, the instrument panel lettering was removed.
It is truly a stroke of luck to have such a 911 S in our workshop for restoration. We are fully aware of this responsibility and have rebuilt this gem with the appreciation it deserves.
Excerpt from the description of the restoration at that time.
