The bumpers of this 914/6 identify it as an early series: thick rubber pads were used later instead of shiny steel. In terms of paintwork, the Porsche has a color called signal orange, which was available at the time. However, this 914/6 was originally delivered in the manufacturer's color black, only during the course of the restoration was the vehicle completely repainted in signal orange. The car also got new bumpers. There are no bodywork defects to be found, the paintwork is in excellent condition and there is no sign of corrosion anywhere on the exterior. In addition, the paintwork does not show any color differences between the different vehicle components, and the gap dimensions are evenly distributed. The seller notes that the Porsche in his possession was accident-free.
Real Porsche 914/6 have five wheel nuts, the VW Porsche with four cylinders four wheel nuts were enough at that time. Mounted on this car are new Vredestein Sprint Classic tires, which were mounted on original Porsche Fuchs rims. The rims can be attested to be in good condition and free of curb scratches, there is nothing to complain about in terms of brake technology, as the seller says they are new. There were also some new features in the chassis area, such as new axles.
The interior of the Porsche 914/6 presents itself as sparse as a monk's cell: the cockpit is functional and efficiently designed. The interior was also completely redone by the saddler. There are no defects in the black sports seats, the black interior carpet, the steering wheel and the gear knob, the door panels and the dashboard also show no damage, as the entire interior was renewed in the course of the restoration. The black Targa roof is also undamaged and can be easily removed and reinserted. The equipment of the 914/6 is restrained: there is not even a radio and the windows can also be cranked up by hand in the classic way – you can tell that a lot of the interior is typically Porsche designed for sportiness.
Three round instruments are in the driver's field of vision: 2,907 kilometers can be read on the five-digit speedometer, presumably this number will represent the total mileage after the restoration. All instruments in the interior function properly.
Under the black cover of the 914/6 lurks a six-cylinder boxer engine with a displacement of 2.0 liters and 110 Swabian horses. The complete engine and technology was overhauled according to the seller. New pistons, cylinders, camshafts, revised bearings and much more that includes a complete engine overhaul was carried out. A service was recently carried out and there is no work to be done. Transmission and engine work without disturbing background noise and obviously show themselves from their best side.
Hands were also put on the underbody in the course of the restoration work: it is now in excellent condition without any rust.
