Furthermore, the Weber carburetors at VGS were completely overhauled and were fitted with the jets from the 2.0S. The engine has retained its completely original look, but now delivers around 160 hp instead of 110 hp. The Fuchs rims are perfectly original, new Pirelli CN 36 were fitted. All in all, a very high expenditure of time and money was made, everything was done "at its finest". Engine and transmission are also "matching numbers".
After our extensive measures, the 914/6 drives sensationally and the concern at Porsche in the early 1970s that the 914/6 could outperform the 911 in terms of driving technology was well founded. It is simply a great pleasure to hear the high-revving 2.0l engine with its screeching sound directly behind the driver's seat and the mid-engine concept also eliminates the typical rear-heaviness of the 911.
All in all, a 914/6 is a must for any discerning Porsche collection. In this original condition and restored to the level, but rare to find!
