The seller cannot say whether the "Indian Red" body of the 964 was repainted – it is clear in any case that the paint on this convertible is not in very good condition. However, there are no signs of damage to the exterior such as dents or severe scratches. At the rear of the convertible there are US-compliant modifications such as the third brake light and the rear bumper for American license plates. The convertible top can be attested to be in overall good condition: there are apparently no tears in the fabric or the plastic rear window. The seller cannot confirm that the Porsche 964 has been accident-free.
Pirelli tires are mounted on silver aluminum rims in acceptable condition – but since the tires are from 2003, they should be changed before the vehicle is put into service to be on the safe side. The seller describes the brake system as ok – no TÜV-relevant defects are to be listed here. No modifications can be found on the chassis of the 964 – it presents itself as original and well preserved.
When you open the driver's door, the torn bolster of the beige driver's seat catches your eye: the front passenger's seat does not have this defect and is in perfect condition. Wear can also be seen on the beige leather gear knob, but there are no major signs of wear on the black four-spoke leather steering wheel. In addition to the airbag steering wheel, the equipment of this Porsche also includes electric seat adjustment, electric windows, air conditioning and a contemporary Blaupunkt Stuttgart cassette radio. The soft top can be unlocked, opened, closed and locked properly again without any problems.
From the driver's perspective, a 964 remains the same except for the airbag steering wheel: As with the predecessors, 5 round instruments provide plenty of information. The odometer reading of this convertible is given in miles: 79,680 miles corresponds to about 128,200 kilometers. There is no proof of the total mileage of the 964, but the log book with the operating instructions and other documents are still available. All switches, levers, buttons and displays in the interior are fully functional.
According to the seller, the 3.6-liter boxer engine, which delivers 250 hp, underwent a complex repair: the six-cylinder boxer engine was completely sealed and extensively repaired (invoices of the work are available). The gears are sorted via a 5-speed manual transmission. Last service work took place in January 2022. The condition of the underbody is dry and in good condition. No rust nests or serious defects can be found on the underside of this Porsche 964 Cabriolet.
