History
The car was delivered on August 13, 1992, by Porsche Salzburg to a hotelier in Obergurgl (Tyrol). The vehicle subsequently passed through the hands of two additional owners before being deregistered on November 16, 2009, and becoming part of a private collection.
The second owner placed particular emphasis on the car’s sporty appearance and had a bolt-on roll cage installed. Due to his high standards regarding the car’s appearance, minor paint damage was always professionally repaired. As a result, the vehicle no longer retains its original paint in its entirety. The last owner also had the engine cover repainted to cover a scratch, which is visible depending on the angle of the light.
There is no record of the car having been used in racing.
It is particularly worth noting that the engine was replaced with a factory replacement engine under a Porsche warranty. As a result, the current engine has significantly lower mileage! This procedure is documented in the vehicle registration certificate and dated May 15, 1998.
Based on current information, there are no signs of accident damage.
Current Condition
- The Carrera RS currently features Martini decals and yellow headlight lenses in the classic rally look. The decals can be easily removed upon request. The original headlight lenses are, of course, included and will be handed over with the vehicle.
Conclusion
An extremely rare Porsche 964 Carrera RS with initial registration in Austria, a traceable history, and sought-after original equipment. The combination of low production numbers, an attractive color scheme, a documented history, and excellent technical condition makes this vehicle an outstanding opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts of air-cooled Porsche models.
Viewing by appointment. Serious inquiries from collectors and enthusiasts are welcome.
If desired, I can also rephrase the text to be more emotive and sales-oriented or create an exclusive collector’s version, such as those used by specialized dealers (e.g., for air-cooled Porsches).
A §57a inspection will be conducted prior to purchase.
A viewing is strongly encouraged. A test drive can also be arranged by appointment, weather permitting.
