Race-inspired details / features of the CS:

Weight reduction: By eliminating unnecessary weight, the 968 CS is 50 kg lighter than the base model.

NO airbag-equipped steering wheel, no air conditioning, no electric front windows, no rear seat / 2-seater, no trunk lock—opens from the inside with a pull cord, no insulation in the engine compartment or transmission, no rear speakers, manual window cranks, reduced audio equipment (front speakers only), no rear window wiper, and no airbags.

The suspension is tuned for a firmer ride and is lowered by 20 mm.

The 968 CS comes standard with the popular 17-inch Cup wheels (7.5 + 9×17) and Cup-design mirrors (manual), as well as a three-spoke sport steering wheel from Atiwe,
The standard seats are replaced ex-factory with lightweight bucket seats from the 964 RS (N/GT).

The Porsche 968 CS is a sporty, lightweight Porsche that is ideal for racing and spirited driving on the road. Its special equipment and weight reduction make it a unique model in Porsche history.

The 968 CS was ordered as a Targa, which is very rare for the CS!

According to research, it is the first of 306 CS “Targa” models built.

Very few of these were delivered to the German market—reportedly, there were about 100!

Instead of the red wheels matching the car’s color—as was customary for the CS—the wheels were ordered and delivered in silver, and the model designation on the rear was omitted.
