At the end of 1994 the car was sold to MAC Racing in Italy where it was converted to 1995 Carrera Cup specification and competed in the Italian Carrera Cup as confirmed by the technical passport. It competed in various races in Cup specification, such as GT Monza and Monza 2H, until 2000 when it was converted by MAC Racing to 993 RSR specification using factory Porsche parts – inclusive of RSR flares, Premier fuel cell, Bilstein Suspension with remote reservoir, 380mm Endurance spec front brakes, twin oil coolers, RSR intake assembly, BBS Magnesium wheels and various engine modifications.
It raced in RSR specification in the Porsche Club Italia Championship as well as the Monza 1000km in 2001; an FIA international event were it finished 12th overall. It was brought into the UK around 2003 and raced in the Porsche Open by Mike Harding and Willie Green. At some stage the car suffered an engine failure and was then placed into long-term storage. The current owner acquired the car in 2023 and set about recommissioning. The car retains it’s original engine and gearbox included a full engine rebuild, gearbox rebuild, new engine wiring loom, brake caliper rebuild, both oil coolers re-cored and a new clutch. Subsequently, the original Motronic ECU has been remapped by Chipwizards with the engine run-in on the dyno. Since re-build the car has not seen any track time and only a handful of road miles.
The history file features a whole host of period press and editorial featuring this specific car as well as rebuild and parts receipts, including communications with EBI motorsport’s Enrico Borghi.
Eligible for Peter Auto, Classic Cup and a multitude of domestic and International series as an RSR it comes complete with UK registration and a valid MOT certificate.

EXTERIOR
This superb Cup car was supplied new by Porsche Motorsport in Riviera Blue – one of only 5 in this colour produced in 1994 to compete in the Porsche Supercup that would support the F1 calendar. With a painted contrast dark blue livery applied in period, the car presents very well having flourished around the race tracks of Europe.
Sporting bolt on arches, huge wings, bonnet and boot pins, it’s clear this is no standard standard 993 or RS and along with air jacks, plus a bonnet cut out for the endurance spec fuel tank, there are few cars that deliver as much attitude as a race spec 993.
Ready to Drive this is certainly a very special example of Porsche Motorsport history.
INTERIOR
With two seats now for a brave passenger, no sound deadening and a Matter roll cage the interior is extreme. Air jacks are standard fit along with a fuel reserve light and the race programmed Motronic ECU behind the drivers seat.
As with all Porsche built race cars the Rev counter is turned on its side for a clear view of the climbing needle to the red line, with further indicators on this car to protect any over revs with shift lights and a sticker.
The Matter cage ensures a rigid body and satisfies safety concerns alongside a built in battery cut off system and fire extinguisher.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The original matching number M64/70 engine sits as a work of art in a clean engine bay having been subjected to a full rebuild just a few hundred miles ago.
The noise of this flat 6 is pure theatre, totally visceral and dominates the entire driving experience to include crackles, bangs and pops on the over run.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Iconic BBS centre lock 18 inch RSR wheels are finished in gold and present in lovely condition, with the rear stepped lip fitment filling those bolt on arches perfectly. 3 extra wheel sets are also provided – magnesium BBS, magnesium Speedlines and a set of ATS GTR’s.
The braking system is factory fit Brembo callipers front and rear finished in red and clamped to huge endurance spec drilled discs all round.
