About the car

Introduced in 2004, the Porsche 911 Carrera S (997.1) marked an important evolution of the iconic 911. Combining a return to the classic round headlights with a more refined design, improved driving dynamics and a naturally aspirated 3.8-litre flat-six producing 355 hp, the Carrera S offered an engaging balance of performance and everyday usability. Paired with the six-speed manual transmission, it delivers the direct, mechanical driving experience that has made this generation increasingly appreciated among Porsche enthusiasts.

This particular 2005 Carrera S stands out with its exceptionally attractive and distinctive specification. The elegant Basalt Black Metallic exterior is beautifully complemented by a rare and striking Terracotta full leather interior. The extensive leather package covers not only the seats but also the dashboard, door panels and various additional interior surfaces in rich Terracotta leather, creating a particularly luxurious and characterful cabin. The specification is further enhanced by the desirable Sport Chrono Package Plus, electrically adjustable sports seats and 19-inch Porsche Sport Design wheels finished in Gunmetal Grey.

One of the most significant highlights of this example is the extensive engine rebuild carried out by Porsche specialist Klassik Service in May 2024. This substantial work addressed the cylinder scoring issues associated with the early 3.8-litre engines, providing valuable reassurance for the next owner and an excellent foundation for many more enjoyable kilometres.

Another noteworthy aspect is the car’s long-term ownership, having remained with the same owner for well over a decade. Its maintenance history is documented from new, supported by the original service booklet and an extensive collection of service records and invoices.

With its distinctive colour combination, desirable factory options, six-speed manual transmission and recently rebuilt engine, this Carrera S represents a particularly appealing example of the first-generation 997.

Service & Maintenance History

This Porsche 911 Carrera S benefits from an extensive and well-documented service history, with maintenance carried out by official Porsche Centres as well as independent Porsche specialists. Over the years, the car has received considerable mechanical attention, including repairs to the clutch, transmission, braking and cooling systems, alongside regular scheduled maintenance.

Most notably, the 3.8-litre flat-six engine underwent an extensive rebuild at Klassik Service Oy in May 2024, following the discovery of cylinder wall scoring. The work included re-sleeving of the cylinders, replacement of the pistons, engine bearings and seals, a new oil pump, and various additional mechanical repairs. Both the IMS bearing and the rear main seal (RMS) have been replaced relatively recently. The engine rebuild and associated repairs, including the oil pump replacement, totalled €18,722, with detailed workshop documentation available. The car has subsequently received further maintenance, including its latest scheduled service in September 2026 at 156,741 kilometres.
