The car’s options include a sunroof, air conditioning, heated sport seats, and all the features listed above. This BTR was used seasonally throughout its previous ownership and was owned by an American before being brought back to Germany in 2012. The first owner then used the vehicle until 2019. The current owner had the transmission overhauled, the engine completely rebuilt, and significant interior work performed (including partial leather upholstery, headliner, etc.). As a result, the vehicle is in very good technical and cosmetic condition.
Although it is extremely fast, this BTR is exceptionally docile and can also be used for everyday driving if desired. This 930 RUF 3.4-liter BTR offers balanced handling and the brute power of a true RUF–Porsche.
The BTR marked the beginning of RUF as an independent manufacturer and established itself as the most prestigious of all Porsche tuning firms. It used a 930 Turbo as its base. The BTR was considered the fastest-accelerating production car of its time.
The BTR utilized a 930 turbo engine bored out to 3.4 liters, equipped with Mahle pistons, RUF 935-type camshafts, a RUF intercooler, and a larger KKK turbocharger.
Other modifications to the car included improvements to the body and interior, a RUF sports steering wheel, RUF instruments, a RUF suspension, RUF-specific 17-inch wheels (here swapped for original, freshly refurbished 16-inch Fuchs rims), a RUF front spoiler with oil cooler, fog lights, a RUF four-pipe sports muffler, and a G 50 – five-speed transmission, which replaced the factory-installed 4-speed transmission from 1986. This BTR is thus equipped with the perfect G50/50 transmission.
Overall, this presents a unique opportunity to acquire a truly original RUF BTR 3.4 Turbo in very good condition.
The current appraisal report from 2025 (Classic Analytics) concludes with an overall grade of 2 and a replacement value of €345,000.
