Compared to a standard 911S, the Carrera 2.7 RS featured a larger engine (2687 cc) with 210 hp (154 kW; 207 bhp) and Bosch mechanical fuel injection (Kugelfischer), a revised and stiffer suspension, a distinctive “ducktail” rear spoiler, larger brakes, wider rear wheels and fenders, and tires sized 185/70VR15 at the front and 215/60VR15 at the rear. In Touring specification, the RS weighed 1,075 kg (2,370 lbs); in the Sport Lightweight version it was around 100 kg lighter, thanks to thinner-gauge steel body panels and thinner glass. In total, 1,580 examples were produced, qualifying the car for FIA Group 4. Additionally, 49 Carrera RSRs were built, equipped with a 2.8-liter engine producing 300 hp (221 kW; 296 bhp).
The Porsche presented here is a recreation of the original RS. This car is powered by a 3.0-liter engine producing 203 hp, originally from a 1978 911 SC, but it has been built on the lightweight body of an F-series. It is fitted with a roll cage, and visually it is identical to an RS, complete with the iconic ducktail, red Fuchs wheels, and matching red side script.
