El vehículo en detalle

Chassis No. WP0JB0933HS051536
Engine No. 68H01602
Transmission No. 77H02366

Completed on 15 June 1987 and delivered new through Jim Ellis Porsche of Atlanta, chassis number 51536 was specified in classic Guards Red over Champagne leather and ordered with the coveted M505 Slantnose package, giving the 930 Turbo its dramatic 935-inspired front end, boxed rocker panels, and rear fender intakes. A copy of the original window sticker notes a new price of $86,907 and documents factory options including an electric sunroof, driver lumbar support, Blaupunkt Reno radio, stone guard decals, and a velour-trimmed luggage compartment. One of just 144 U.S.-market Slantnose Turbo Coupes produced for the model year, it retains its matching-numbers 3.3-liter flat-six and four-speed manual transaxle, with correspondence from Porsche Cars North America recording that serial numbers 68H01602 and 77H02366 are original to the car.

Remaining in the Southeast when new, the Porsche passed to its second owner in 1989 and was retained within that family, later passing it to his son, before being acquired by a subsequent South Carolina-based caretaker in 2018. Shortly thereafter, it underwent an extensive two-year recommissioning from 2018 to 2020. Porsche Classic in Atlanta performed an engine-out service encompassing a new ignition coil, V-belt, spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor, hoses, ignition control unit, oxygen sensor, gaskets, clutch, pressure plate, and release bearing. The electric sunroof was rebuilt, and a full NOS OEM Champagne leather interior kit—sourced from Autobahn Interiors of San Diego at a cost approaching $10,000—was installed during this period. The exterior received a full paint correction and protective ceramic coating, and the 16-inch Fuchs wheels were refurbished by Weidman’s Wheels of Oroville, California in February 2019.

In 2020, Stahl Motorsports of West Palm Beach, Florida carried out a further round of mechanical attention totaling approximately $50,000. New brake rotors, pads, and lines were fitted, Michelin Pilot Sport tires were mounted to the rear wheels, and Bilstein performance shocks were installed at all four corners. The front suspension received new wheel bearings, ball joints, and tie rods. The engine and gearbox were separated to fit a new flywheel and install fresh crankshaft and mainshaft seals, while the air conditioning system, engine top-end, turbocharger, emergency brake assembly, and struts were each rebuilt. Euro-specification taillights, a new fuse box, and a Bosch battery were fitted at the same time. Total documented expenditure across all recommissioning work exceeds $100,000; a detailed accounting of the work is available in digital invoices on file.

With their handmade, motorsport-inspired bodywork, performance, and exceptional rarity, factory-built M505-optioned Slantnose Coupes in classic colors remain tremendously desirable in the collector car world. One with such substantial recent investment must be one of the finest expressions of this most collectible of G-Body 911s.
