After the evolution of the G bodied 911s, Porsche introduced the 964 for 1989 as the new 911 model. With technologies from the flagship 959 supercar, Porsche introduced the Carrera 4 for the debut model featuring an all-wheel drive system mated to its new 3.6 Liter Flat 6-cylinderr engine and 5-speed G64 gearbox. With the newly designed bumpers and bodywork, the 911s drag coefficient was drastically reduced to 0.32, making it the most slippery air-cooled 911 to date. Also debuting on this new 964 model was coil springs, ABS brakes and power steering.
