Porsche 964 Turbo 3,6

We know this car well for having acquired it, from its former owner who had kept it more than 15 years, on behalf of one of our customers who can not take the car to its new destination. Since the acquisition, we have equipped the car with a Porsche Classic radio with GPS, Bluetooth and Focal speakers. The previous owner of the car took great care of it for many years and the car has never been brutalized.

History:

The third-generation Porsche 911 Turbo, 964 Turbo, also known under the pseudonym «turbo 2» or «965» (although the latter only appeared unofficially to differentiate it from the 3.6 turbo) was presented at the 1990 Geneva Motor Show. In its initial version, the new model retained the mechanical basis of its ancestor, the 930 3.3L, but Porsche quickly increased its displacement and power.

Even today, it remains a model of anthology, last born of the mono-turbo family whose lineage had started in 1975 with the 930 3.0 Turbo, to which the adjective «brutal» was attributed. A characteristic that has been perpetuated over time, to the delight of lovers of the Turbo effect.

In 1993, Porsche breathed new life into the Turbo with a brand new engine. The mechanical base is now that of the Carrera RS with a 3600 cc aluminum block. The M64/50 engine equipping the new Turbo develops 360 hp for a torque of 520 nm at 4200 rpm. The car is equipped with a specific Bosch Motronic injection box and a simple ignition.

Externally the Turbo 3.6 differs from the 3.3 by the speedline rims in 3 parts taken from the 3.3 Leichtbau in 225 and 265 at the rear.

The gearbox of the 3.6 is still the famous G50 of the new type (G50/52) used on the 3.3 Turbo.

The 964 Turbo 3.6 was produced in 1,437 units between 1993 and 1994, 1/3 of which were destined for the American market.
