1999 Porsche 911 996 GT3 MK 1 Club Sport for sale!

This is one of only 28 Club Sport UK delivered versions of the rare first edition of the 996 GT3, virtually hand made by the Motor Sport division of Porsche. Not only was this the first GT3, it also of course was the first Mezger-engined 911 road car. Many of these have had a rather hard life to say the least and have accordingly seen heavy track use, modification and damage. However, this 29,000 mile example remains in superb original unmolested condition throughout, exactly how you would hope to find one – in fact, a rare bird indeed.

It was supplied when new by Glenvarigill Ltd, the Porsche main dealer in Edinburgh at the time, on the 18th of September 1999 as confirmed in the original stamped service book. It has continued to be carefully maintained by six owners in total since then with a complete service history. The last owner, a very discerning collector and long-time friend and collector of mine bought the car several years ago to join his amazing private collection. Following a full check and major service by the Porsche Centre Swindon he has enjoyed it lightly in fine weather.

I recently purchased the GT3 and enjoyed a great drive back to the Cotswolds from North Devon. What a tremendously engaging and enigmatic car this is, perfectly dancing the fine line, still fully Porsche, raw and analogue with a degree of modern amenity and frankly amazing value for money for a hand-built rare Porsche Motor Sport model.

It comes with a complete book pack including stamped original service book, tools, all keys, and a file of invoices and MOT certificates. It is currently back at Porsche Centre Swindon undergoing a full evaluation and major service. These will not be this cheap for long.
