The GTS model was introduced with the 997 MK2, making it an extremely rare and sought-after version by collectors.

In particular, the 997 GTS stood out from the traditional coupé S/4S thanks to a kit that increased the power to 408 hp [X51 KIT], which included polished exhaust ports, a different intake system, and a dedicated exhaust. Additionally, the GTS version is enhanced with the SPYDER RS center-lock wheels.
