Despite initial resistance, Porsche became aware of a healthy customer demand for converted 930-generation 911s that resembled its 935 racers. The track-prepped version of the 911 was taking scalps all over the world’s race tracks in late-1970s, which didn’t go unnoticed by the Porsche cognoscenti. Some bold owners went as far as tasking aftermarket firms with carrying out a slant-nose cosmetic conversion. Getting wind of this, Porsche instigated its ‘Sonderwunsch’ (special requests) division to accommodate customers’ demands, without sacrificing the firm’s enviable reputation.

The 911 Turbo ‘Flachbau’ offered here is thought to be one of just 948 to receive the famous canted snout from new. The Porsche retains its factory-correct colour pairing of Grand Prix White over a special-order Can Can Red leather interior extending to the roof lining, with the exterior enhanced by white centres to the timeless Fuchs deep-dish wheels. The car was further optioned with sports seats and a limited-slip differential.
Built to 1986 model year specification and delivered new to Sweden, this coveted 911 is believed to have remained in Scandinavia for its whole life, and presents with 169,695 kilometres on its odometer at the time of cataloguing and having undergone a sympathetic refurbishment. Offered with a Porsche folio containing manuals and a leather tool roll, this 911 could complete any true Porsche aficionado’s collection.
