Il veicolo in dettaglio

The Porsche 911 Targa has long been the ultimate middle ground for a driving enthusiast who enjoys open-air driving but doesn’t want to give up the chassis rigidity that comes with a convertible. First developed as a workaround for anticipated legislation baring convertibles from US sale, the Targa became a Porsche signature and a trim that has graced every generation of 911. From the 993 to the 997, the Targa took on a different form, doing away with the removable panel and, in its place, putting a sliding glass piece. Thankfully, though, with the introduction of the 991, Porsche brought back the removable roof panel – this time with power actuation – and a classic-style contrasting targa bar that harkens back to the Targas of old.

This 2022 Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS is from the second generation of the power-retracting Targa roof era, the 992.1. Sold new in Germany, this Targa shows 15.000 km and is extensively optioned, finished in a stunning Meissen Blue Paint to Sample shade. As a GTS, this is paired with dark finish trim around the car’s exterior, including the Targa hoop, window surrounds, and rear engine cover trim and badging. The 5-split spoke wheels are finished in satin black and sit in front of a set of steel brakes with black painted brake calipers. LED Matrix headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus are fitted up front, which do a remarkable job lighting the way for the car.

Moving to the interior, the beautiful Slate Gray and Chalk leather is optioned with the 930 interior package with special stitching on the backrests reminiscent of the seat stitching found in the old 930 Turbo. The 18-way power front seats feature heating, ventilation, and memory capabilities, and a 3-spoke GT Sport steering wheel sits just in front of the driver. The gauge cluster is primarily digital, but an analog tachometer sits just in front of the driver, accented by a custom Lizard Green stripe around the ring. Although the Targa GTS is designed to be a great driver’s car, that doesn’t mean it can’t be a solid commuter, too – this example benefits from both Adaptive Cruise Control and Adaptive Lane Keep Assist, which make commuting in traffic a breeze, and don’t impede driving when you’re on your favorite backroad. A Burmester High-End Surround Sound system has been ordered, which offers exceptional quality and is the highest-end stereo you can get from Porsche.

Sure, the Targa 4 GTS may not be as track-focused as the 911 GT3 or Cayman GT4 RS, but that doesn’t mean it is lacking in performance. Powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged flat-6, the Targa produces 473 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque – available from a remarkable 2,300 rpm. When running through the car’s 8-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox to all four wheels, the Targa 4 GTS runs from 0-62 mph in just 3 seconds and will carry on to a top speed in excess of 190 mph. This Targa has the additional benefit of a factory sport exhaust system that opens up the engine note and helps the car sound incredible when you’re driving quickly. The suspension is already tuned for sporty driving but thanks to the optional Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control on this car, handling is further improved with active roll stabilization.

The Targa is without a doubt one of Porsche’s most appealing products today, especially for the enthusiast looking for a daily-driver sports car to enjoy year-round. This car, in its unique Paint to Sample shade and optioned with a host of desirable features, is a particularly nice example and is eligible to have the VAT refunded.
