The vehicle in detail

Chassis No. WP0AF2A97GS195380

911 R No. 474/991

Powerful, engaging, and classic, the 911 R combined the otherworldly 500 PS 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six of the GT3 RS with the wingless body of the 911 and, crucially, a six-speed manual transmission in lieu of the GT3 RS’s PDK. From the RS, the 911 R inherited its magnesium roof, carbon fiber front and rear lids, and carbon fiber front fenders. At 1,370 kilograms, it undercut the GT3 RS by 50 kilograms to become the lightest 911 of its generation. Its stripped-back simplicity, combined with retro styling cues such as its houndstooth-trimmed carbon fiber seats and the Red or Green exterior stripes that link it back to the 1967 911 R, made it one of the most sought-after 911 variants of the past decade. Demand was such that the model normalized the idea of allocations and waiting lists for Porsche’s limited-series models, and it was the first jewel in the crown for 918 Spyder Circle members.

Completed in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen in December 2016, this 911 R, finished in popular GT Silver Metallic, was assigned limitation number 474 of the 991 serialized examples produced. The car’s digital build sheet reveals that number 474 was optioned with the ever-useful 90-liter Extended Range Fuel Tank and Front Axle Lift System, along with BOSE Surround Sound System, Sport Chrono Package, SportDesign Mirror Trim in Carbon Fiber, Illuminated Carbon Door Sills, and more. Additionally, the car was specified with the sought-after Single-Mass Flywheel with Reinforced Clutch, a €3.000 option that reduced rotating mass by approximately five kilograms. Limitation number 474, a U.S.-market ‘C02’ example, is notable for the personal selection of Red exterior graphical elements and centerlock wheels in Gloss Black when new. The interior features the highly desirable 918 Spyder-type carbon fiber sport bucket seats trimmed with Houndstooth fabric seat inserts and optional leather upholstery in Black and stitching in GT Silver.

According to its clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report, the car was delivered to its original owner through The Collection of Coral Gables, Florida. After finding a second owner in 2019, the 911 R was approved as a Porsche Certified Pre-Owned example by Isringhausen Porsche in 2022 with only 1,840 miles (approximately 2,961 kilometers) recorded. Periodically serviced by official Porsche dealerships throughout its period in the US, the mileage remained low and the car remained in impeccable condition.

Imported to Europe in the summer of 2023, with only some 2,500 mi (approximately 4,000 km) recorded, the car was registered in Germany. The current owner bought the car in 2024, has freshly serviced the car in September 2026 with Porsche Centre Antwerp (invoice on file) and today it is offered with just 6,956 km and offered with a German Fahrzeugbrief and Certificate of Conformity (COC), this well-optioned 911 R offers an enviable opportunity to acquire the engaging Porsche GT of its era. Furnished with its tools and an outprint of Porsche recorded service overview, limitation number 474 embodies the purity and rarity that define Porsche’s most celebrated limited-series models, offering its next custodian a deeply engaging expression of the analog spirit that Porsche understands better than any other marque.
