911 R No. 594 of 991
Introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in 2016, the 2016 Porsche 911 R represents one of the most focused and evocative interpretations of the 991 generation, conceived as a purist’s counterpoint to increasingly complex, technology-laden performance cars. Drawing inspiration from the original 1967 homologation special, it distilled the 911 formula to its essential elements, pairing the 500-horsepower, 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six from the GT3 RS with a six-speed manual transmission and a deliberate absence of aerodynamic excess. Limited to just 991 examples worldwide, the model immediately achieved near-mythic status among collectors and drivers alike. Extensive lightweight construction, including a magnesium roof and carbon-fiber body panels, contributed to a curb weight of approximately 1,370 kilograms, making it the lightest 991-generation 911 and a benchmark for modern analog performance.
Completed on 7 October 2016, this example is the 594th of just 991 produced and was delivered new through Porsche Centre Mechelen in Belgium on 21 January 2017. Finished in the iconic combination of Pure White (C9A) with factory-specified green “911 R” side stripes, it presents a subtle yet distinctive homage to Porsche’s competition heritage.
At its core is the defining 911 R drivetrain, including the highly sought-after six-speed GT Sport manual transmission and optional single-mass flywheel, sharpening throttle response and enhancing the car’s already immersive character. Performance is further elevated by Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), rear-axle steering, and the front-axle lift system, ensuring both dynamic capability and usability. The inclusion of Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and dynamic engine mounts showcases the model’s balance between precision and drivability.
The interior reflects the 911 R’s stripped-back ethos while incorporating bespoke detailing, including lightweight 918 Spyder-style carbon bucket seats trimmed in a combination of leather and Pepita cloth, carbon-fiber interior accents, and an Alcantara headliner. Additional highlights include the Sport Chrono Package with track app, navigation system, and a subtle suite of comfort features such as air conditioning and a sound system, preserving usability without compromising intent.
The car has been in the care of three private owners from new. The first retained it from 2017 to 2021, covering just 994 kilometers. The second owned it from 2021 until 2025, by which time the odometer had advanced to approximately 8,000 kilometers. It was then acquired by the present, French owner, who imported the car that same year and has added only modest use since, bringing the total to 9,753 kilometers at the time of cataloging. With its low mileage, limited ownership, and highly desirable specification, this 911 R embodies the model’s celebrated blend of rarity, engineering pedigree, and unfiltered driving engagement, qualities that continue to define it as one of the most collectible modern Porsche road cars.
