Overview
An exceptional Porsche 911 S 2.0 (short wheelbase – SWB) from May 1968, a pivotal year and the final evolution of the short-wheelbase models. Delivered new in France by Sonauto, this model comes with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and has just undergone a meticulous “Bolt & Nut” full restoration (2023–2025) to the highest standards.
Bodywork & Cosmetic Restoration
- Chassis: Completely stripped down, treated with anti-corrosion protection, sandblasted, and microbeaded.
- Paint: Stunning Bahama Yellow finish (code 6805).
- Finishes: All chrome has been redone (trim, bumpers, wheel rims). New moldings and seals (genuine Porsche).
- Lighting: Equipped with standard iodine headlights (specific to S models).
Mechanics & Engine (fully rebuilt)
- Engine: Type 901/02 aluminum block (160cv) completely rebuilt by a professional (metrology, new bearings, piston rings, valves, and timing components).
- Fuel System: Restored original Weber 40 IDS carburetors (bichromate plating, new shafts and gaskets).
- Details: Etched magnesium turbine, gold-bichromated fasteners, new wiring harness.
- Drivetrain: Overhauled transmission, new clutch.
- Suspension: Anodized 5.5×15 Fuchs rims, new Dunlop Sport Classic tires, vented disc brakes (original aluminum calipers), and new bearings.
Interior & Equipment
- Upholstery: Custom-made by an upholsterer to match the original.
- Driver’s compartment: 42-cm leather-wrapped Bakelite steering wheel with a rare “butterfly” horn. Refurbished gauges.
- Audio: Period Blaupunkt Frankfurt car radio, serviced with discreet Bluetooth integration.
