Special 1979 Porsche 911 SC 3.0 Coupé (G-Series) – No Sunroof!

In 2023, we fully prepared this Porsche for the road, including a top-end engine rebuild. We subsequently sold the car to a long-standing client. We have now had the opportunity to purchase it back from his collection and are pleased to offer it for sale once again. The car has covered fewer than 1,000 kilometres over the past three years.

The vehicle in detail

This is a matching-numbers example, which can be verified by the accompanying Porsche birth certificate. The car was delivered new in Germany on 22 March 1979, making it an original European-delivered example with the 180 hp engine.

In 2017, the car was repainted in the beautiful colour Braunkupferdiamant Metallic, a distinctive copper-brown metallic finish. The engine was rebuilt in 2023 by Porsche specialist The Mechanic, including a top-end overhaul. The engine runs exceptionally well and is completely dry, with no oil leaks.

The car has been in the Netherlands since 1993. In 2000, the previous owner took the Porsche with him to the United States and brought it back to the Netherlands in 2013. For this reason, the car is currently fitted with a speedometer and odometer displaying miles. This was installed at the time with the mileage continuing in ascending sequence and currently shows 59,920 miles. This reading is consistent with the accompanying Dutch National Auto Pass mileage report. Unfortunately, the original kilometre speedometer is no longer present.

The car sits on its original 7J and 8J Fuchs wheels, fitted with good Vredestein tyres. It also retains its original factory options, including:

  • Centre console
  • Tinted glass
  • Black trim
  • Black antenna on the right-hand side
  • Electrically adjustable exterior mirrors
  • The original steering wheel and tool kit are included

The car comes with an exceptionally comprehensive history file, including:

  • Dutch APK roadworthiness inspection valid until 21 June 2027
  • Maintenance documentation from 2026
  • Porsche birth certificate from 2023
  • Documentation relating to the 2017 repaint
  • Invoices for the 2023 engine rebuild
  • Valuation report from 2018
  • Immobiliser certificate
  • Original yellow Dutch registration document
  • Approximately 40 maintenance and repair invoices

The interior shows some minor signs of dryness, but the leather is not torn anywhere. The front luggage-compartment lid has a slight texture in the paintwork on the top left but otherwise presents very well.

The car is supplied with Dutch registration and can be viewed by appointment only in ’s-Gravenzande, the Netherlands.
