The possibility of open driving pleasure, breathtaking in every detail. The facelift version of model year 2003 can be recognized by bumpers with more aerodynamics and air intakes, bright headlights with white flashing lights, electric opening of the luggage compartments, a glove compartment, glass rear window, other spoiler and exhaust. The latter sounds significantly better than its predecessor. The suspension and suspension are taken from the old S version. In terms of torque and acceleration, these two engines are similar. The sought-after three-spoke steering wheel became standard, in this case with shift paddles for the 5-speed Tiptronic automatic. The buttons next to the infotainment have been repositioned and everything feels better quality than with the first generation.
In the option list we find things like a Premium Sound system from Harmann, differential, Climate Control with air conditioning, xenon headlights, electrically adjustable backrests, windows and mirrors, CDR 23 radio with CD player, windshield, side airbags, stronger battery and starter motor, spare wheel, storage compartment behind the front seats and Porsche Stability Management [PSM]. Later there are other taillights [LED], aluminum entry frames, velour mats and an extensive infotaiment system [including DAB radio, Bluetooth phone, Spotify, Apple CarPlay l Android Auto and Aux jack] mounted. Everything is functioning properly.
This Porsche already rolled off the tyre in September 2002 at the pre-production facility in Finland [Uusikaupunki], while the introduction did not take place until November. It was shipped to Japan: a country full of car enthusiasts, where a left-hand-drive Porsche is seen as an expensive status object. They take exceptional care of this, through conditioned indoor installation, frequent maintenance and premium fuel. In this case, the documentation is very complete, although we have not (yet) invested time to decipher the Japanese texts. In any case, the counter position is logically explainable. Under the heading ‘documents’ on our website you will find detailed photos of the history.
The car was imported by a private individual in the Netherlands in early January 2022 with 155,170km. That exchanged him on 24-12-2022 [157,506km] at a car company in Westerbork, after which the second Dutch owner bought him and exchanged him with us on a BMW Z4 on 14-8-2024 [158,454km]. The last owner has since ridden him with great pleasure and now traded in for a younger 718 Boxster. The last major maintenance was carried out in February 2024, including new brake discs and blocks. We deliver the car with a small turn. The MOT will apply until 8 November 2026. The Bridgestone Potenza tyres have a minimum of 60% profile. The engine sounds, even at a cold start, silky soft and the automatic switches smoothly. The air conditioning is getting cold quickly. The past is accident-free.
Note: the photos date from September 2024, when we sold the car, but the condition is now unchanged.
