Upon the announcement of the 993-generation of the 911 in 1994, it was clear the company was serious about keeping the model around and relevant. While some enthusiasts mourned the loss of the fully removable panel and distinctive ‘roll hoop’ styling, this solution is far more convenient in day-to-day use. With only 4,583 reportedly produced worldwide before the release of the 996, 993 Targas are a rare entry into one of Porsche’s most well-regarded vehicles.
