“An air-cooled Porsche 911 will always be desirable.” – Autocar magazine.
The 993-generation Porsche 911 Turbo represents the final and most refined evolution of the air-cooled era. Produced until 1998, before the introduction of the water-cooled 996 in 1999, the 993 has become firmly established as the most coveted of all classic 911 variants – admired for its timeless design, engineering integrity, and everyday usability. The 993 Turbo offered here is factory-equipped with the highly sought-after WLS2 (Werksleistungssteigerung) package, the Porsche’s ultimate air-cooled performance upgrade, offered for one model year only. Chief among them is the larger twin turbochargers of the GT2 racer, which raise maximum output of the 3.6-litre flat-six from 408bhp to 450 horsepower, making the WLS2-equipped Type 993 Turbo one of the most powerful air-cooled 911s ever with a level of performance equal to that of the more expensive Turbo S. Significantly, factory WLS2 cars are rarer still than the Turbo S itself.
