Porsche 996 GT3 Clubsport

Power came from the legendary Mezger-designed 3.6-litre naturally aspirated flat-six engine, internally known as the M96.76. Derived from the 911 GT1 race car engine, it combined a modified air-cooled crankcase with water-cooled 24-valve cylinder heads, forged pistons, titanium connecting rods, a lightweight crankshaft, and VarioCam technology. With an 11.7:1 compression ratio, the engine produced 360 bhp at 7,200 rpm and 273 lb-ft of torque at 5,000 rpm. Although engineered to withstand up to 9,000 rpm, road cars were fitted with a softer limiter at 7,800 rpm. The first-generation GT3 engine is especially respected for its durability and motorsport pedigree, tracing its roots back to the 930 Turbo, various Porsche race engines, and the 959.

The GT3 was paired with the G96/90 six-speed manual gearbox, derived from the 993 GT2, featuring reinforced internals, improved synchronizers, and smoother cable linkage. Early GT3 Clubsport models also retained a lightweight single-mass flywheel for sharper throttle response and a more direct driving experience.

Aerodynamic improvements included revised bumpers, side skirts, underbody cladding, and a distinctive dual-plane rear wing designed to increase stability at high speed. The optional Clubsport package further emphasized the car’s motorsport character, adding a full roll cage, Nomex-covered Recaro bucket seats, six-point harnesses, a fire extinguisher, electrical cut-off switches, deletion of side airbags and a single-mass flywheel.

Our car presents itself in exceptional condition and has been meticulously cared for throughout its life. It was delivered new on 10 November 2000 by Autocarrera in Helsinki, Finland, and has had only two owners from new. The current owner has cared for the car since 2002 and have been using it since it was new..

Finished in striking Speed Yellow and equipped with the desirable 003 Clubsport package and E93 leather/carbon interior package, this GT3 is an exceptionally rare example. Of the 1,868 examples of 996 GT3s produced, only around 500 were specified with the Clubsport package, and according to various sources, only approximately 10–15 were finished in Speed Yellow — with even fewer featuring the sought-after leather/carbon package. The appearance is further enhanced by the stunning color-matched 19” BBS wheels, accompanied by the original 18” GT3 wheels, that are factory painted to match the exterior.

The car has been garage-kept throughout its life and shows no signs of UV damage. It is accompanied by a complete service history, extensive maintenance and inspection documentation, and has benefited from consistent servicing over the years. Mechanically and cosmetically, the car remains in excellent condition and drives exactly as a GT3 CS should.

In 2005, the front bumper was upgraded to the Cup-version. At 78,867 km, the clutch was replaced, and in 2010, at 86,517 km, the car received a set of Bilstein PSS9 coilovers. The front brake calipers were also upgraded to Cup-car specification for improved braking performance and cooling. In 2021, at 130,338 km, all brake discs were replaced. The car is now fully prepared to be enjoyed by its next caretaker.
