The vehicle in detail

It is a car that exudes motorsport and Carrera Cup the moment you approach it. Naturally, there are subtle differences in the details, but the overall impression is far more aggressive and focused than that of the earlier models. The front fenders feature separate extensions to accommodate the now-wider track, while the carbon-fiber wing is supported by two aluminum arms—an unapologetic design. What feels like a relatively small car today sits on center-lock wheels, also finished in White Gold Metallic. This color is echoed on the nose cone, the mirror caps, and—perhaps most prominently—in the decal package that displays the model designation across the front and rear fenders.

The interior, too, is steeped in a motorsport feel. Nomex-upholstered bucket seats. A six-point harness. A simple loop to open the doors, and a manual gear selector with shift actions so precise and distinct they feel almost surgical. Key on the left. A turn of the key ignites a driving experience that cannot be replicated—an experience that, no matter how much one tries to describe it, defies true description. The final production run of the 997.2 GT3 RS was in 2012. Four years later, the new car arrived. Faster. More efficient and—by every measurable German metric—better. In every measurable way.
