THE ENTERPRISE

Since the company was founded in 1997, Mechatronik GmbH has established itself as one of the internationally best-known specialist companies for Mercedes-Benz classics, growing solidly with consistently high quality standards. Success has shown us that we are right. Mechatronik GmbH grew from a three-man workshop in the Swabian town of Großbottwar to a global company based in Pleidelsheim, north of Stuttgart. And yet, despite all the changes that have taken place since the company was founded, the philosophy and the claim to ourselves to create the best have remained unchanged. With CARTIQUE by Mechatronik, we dedicate ourselves to those icons, apart from the mechatronics core brand Mercedes-Benz. For more than 10 years this area has been looked after by our sister company "Oldtimer Land", which is now moving into focus under a new name as "CARTIQUE by Mechatronik". Decades of experience, maximum transparency and comprehensive customer service are what set us apart. We are looking forward to your contact.

Mechatronics Spyder

Over 6,000 square meters, our team of over 40 employees has modern workshop space that is optimized for the relevant requirements. A team made up of a healthy mix of experienced experts with decades of experience and highly qualified young people. In order to ensure that we will retain this know-how in the company in the future and pass it on to the next generation, we at Mechatronik traditionally train the next generation ourselves. From repair and maintenance work, partial or full restoration, technical conversions or prototype construction to classic car trading, all activities are carried out under one roof at Mechatronik. Always with the goal of offering the customer something unique in the end through perfection in work and through the passion of our employees.

About us

The management of mechatronics

The founder and sole partner of Mechatronik, Dipl.-Ing. Frank Rickert, has been passionately taking apart almost all mechanical and electrical devices since he was 4 years old, in order to then put them back together in a new and "optimized" way. When he was 15, he carried the parts of an old Kreidler foil in plastic bags into his children's room and put the dismantled moped back together again.

After completing his apprenticeship at AMG and graduating from high school, Frank Rickert studied vehicle technology at the FHTE Esslingen. He attended lectures in the mornings and studied at midnight. The rest of the time was spent in the workshop. In 1996, parallel to his studies, he founded Mechatronik GbR. In 2001 the course was successfully completed. In less than two decades, Frank Rickert and his team were able to impressively shape the name mechatronics, drive rapid growth and – even more important – establish the company in a demanding market.
