The Porsche 944 Turbo. Or rather: the illustrious Porsche 944 Turbo. A classic in the making, which is being discovered by more and more enthusiasts. With the unveiling of this extra-fast version in 1985, Porsche finally shows the true potential of the brilliant 944. In the front is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder turbo engine, which transfers a power of no less than 220 hp to the rear wheels. More than enough to make life difficult for even the Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 on the Autobahn, because the 944 Turbo has exactly the same top speed, of no less than 245 km/h.

In a straight line, the 944 Turbo (also known as Porsche 951) has its equal in the 911 Carrera 3.2, but on a thrilling winding mountain road or on the race track, it easily beats the legendary – but rather unpredictable at the limit – Elfer. Thanks in part to the transaxle gearbox, the weight of the car is perfectly distributed over the front and rear axle. The Porsche 944 is known for its excellent balance and very confidence-inspiring handling at high speeds. You should not expect comparable driving characteristics from the 911 Carrera 3.2.

In addition, the Porsche 944 is a particularly user-friendly sports car, which can be used for daily activities and obligations. The 944 has a spacious trunk and the equipment is very complete, including electrically adjustable seats and leather upholstery. A car in which you can comfortably cover long distances, without having to compromise on Porsche’s famous sportiness.

After 35 years, the good qualities of the characterful 944 Turbo have not changed at all. Peet Classics is pleased to present this unrestored 1986 specimen. It is originally an American car, which is covered in a midnight black paint and is beautifully finished inside with cream-coloured leather. An extremely tasteful combination, packaged in a timeless design (by the Dutchman Harm Lagaaij).

Characteristic of the 944 Turbo from 1986 are the wide rectangular indicators and fog lamps in the fire bumper, the even wider fenders and the air duct under the rear bumper.

This 944 Turbo also meets all requirements from a technical point of view: it has no more than 174428 kilometers on the odometer and the maintenance history of the car is fully documented. The engine and the manual transaxle gearbox are very healthy; this is a car with which you can confidently take a long road trip across Europe. Or that you regularly use for commuting miles, because the busy Dutch rush hour traffic leaves the car completely cold.
