The 996 Turbo is rapidly shedding its underdog status. Once overshadowed by air-cooled predecessors, values are soaring as collectors recognize what truly matters: the bulletproof Mezger engine, genuine driver engagement, and an increasingly appealing design that’s aging far better than critics ever predicted.

The twin-turbocharged 3.6-litre flat-six produces 420 hp at 6,000 rpm and 560 Nm from 2,700-4,600 rpm. Unlike the standard 996 Carrera’s M96 engine, the Turbo uses the race-derived Mezger unit with forged internals and dry-sump lubrication. It’s the same architecture that powered GT3 Cup cars and GT2s. The result is an engine capable of sustained high-rpms whilst maintaining excellent reliability.
Performance is devastating even by Today’s standards: 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds, 305 km/h top speed, yet the four-wheel drive system makes it remarkably accessible. The six-speed manual gearbox is precise and direct, with mechanical feel that’s increasingly rare in modern turbocharged cars.

This particular Turbo has just 48,000 km with full Porsche service history documented in the original stamped book. Recent comprehensive service has been completed ahead of sale. The 90% original Lapis Blue Metallic paint is exceptional for a 25-year-old sports car.

Lapis Blue is already an uncommon color that was specified far less frequently than silver or black. Paired with Natural Brown leather, it creates a sophisticated combination rarely seen on 996 Turbos as most cars left the factory with black, blue or grey interiors.

The 17 Porsche Exclusive leather options transform the cabin entirely: instrument surround, central air vents, dashboard trim, door sills, center console, sun visors, roof liner, A and B pillars, speaker covers – all wrapped in Natural Brown leather. Carbon fiber gear lever and handbrake add a sporty feel to a very classy interior.
