Porsche 996 is the internal designation for the Porsche 911 model that was manufactured and sold in the period from 1999 to 2005. The Porsche 996 differed significantly from previous models by having a water-cooled engine. Among other major changes compared to the predecessor were i.a. a completely new platform with a slimmer body with a more sloping windshield and a redesigned interior along with the new “mirror egg lights”. In 2005 Porsche introduced the Turbo S model which was available as either a coupé or convertible. The Turbo S was essentially a 996 Turbo with the X50 option but also included the PCCB. 6-disc CD changer and instruments with aluminium. The Porsche 996 Turbo S has 450 hp!
