Besides the mainstream versions such as the Carrera (S) and the Turbo, a GT3, GT3 RS and GT2 would also be launched.

After being in production for about four years, Porsche thought it was time for a major facelift, in 2008. With this facelift, not only the design and interior were changed slightly, the biggest changes were all technical. For the first time ever, the 911 got direct fuel injection and partly as a result, the power outputs of the various engines also increased.

The new sports exhaust provided even better exhaust passage, while the new, superfast-shifting PDK gearbox transformed acceleration times and the entire driving experience. To close the gap between the Carrera S and the GT3, a new Carrera GTS version was also added, capable of very serious performance thanks to a 3.8-litre boxer engine with 408 BHP. When production of the 997 series came to an end in 2012, a total of 213,004 units had been produced. This makes it one of the most successful 911 models ever.

The beautiful Porsche 911 997.2 Carrera 4S shown here is first and foremost a 911 that we have very fond memories of. This has everything to do with the fact that it has been part of our own collection in the recent past and has always remained close within our network later on.

On December 12, 2008, Porsche Zentrum Wuppertal in Germany handed the 911 over to its proud first owner. Due to its year of manufacture, this is a highly sought-after 997.2, which is easily recognisable by its front daytime running lights and LED tail lights. The deep black paint colour looks fantastic on the 911, especially combined with the black painted alloy wheels, behind which imposing looking and red coloured brake calipers are visible.

Finished in “Cocoa” deep dark brown, the interior is fully covered with leather and shows just how high the build quality of this generation 911 is. The leather still looks beautiful and has almost no signs of wear. The dashboard and door cards are also covered in leather, while beautiful and soft-feeling alcantara has been chosen for the headliner. The Sport Chrono option is still very much in demand today, not to mention the PDK transmission.

Also present are sought after options such as cruise control and heated seats and an updated and much more modern infotainment system in the centre console.

The marriage between the direct fuel injected 3.8-litre boxer engine and PDK can only be described as the perfect marriage. When driven calm, the 385 BHP ‘Carrera S’ engine is as gentle as a lamb and the gearbox shifts imperceptibly through the gears. However, when the “Sport Plus” switch is pressed, the 911 transforms from a smooth GT to a pure, hardcore sports car. The way the engine now responds, the exhaust system sounds and the gearbox goes through the gears with short, dry changes is of a completely different order. What an experience! In this mode and thanks to the advanced four wheel drive system, the 911 accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, on to a top speed of a whopping 295 km/h.

With the aforementioned 385 BHP and 420 Nm’s of torque, the beautiful sounding boxer engine always has power on hand to accelerate super-fast. The difference from the first 997 models when equipped with Tiptronic simply is enormous, that’s how different this 997.2 drives.

In the first few years, this 911 was fully maintained by Porsche Zentrum Wuppertal.

In early 2013, the Porsche was imported into the Netherlands, and maintenance was carried out by Porsche Centrum Heteren and a brand specialist. It goes without saying that the entire history is present and available, showing how well this beautiful 911 has been looked after for in the past 17 years.

Due to its overall condition, being a sought-after 997.2 finished in a timeless colour combination, we expect that this 911 will not be part of our collection for long…
