The front end already reveals that this is no “ordinary” 911 . As soon as you walk alongside, the nicely shaped ironing board at the back already gives things away. No Roderick, that’s not a quick tie-down for the golf bag. That is downforce, something you really need with this machine! The 3.8 boxer got an extra 15 HP after the facelift, which adds up to 450 lapping horses from the Stuttgart stable.

And then why not a GT3 RS? Well, ours, if you have all the buttons set to ‘good’, can also be used without a kidney belt! When you flip the ‘Sport’ button, it seems like the Porsche is finally allowed to do what it was really made for. Clammy hands, tingling underbelly and, above all, giving out lots of smiles. Her suspension is such that breaking out into a cloverleaf will be easy with your accelerator from now on.

And that rational part? Our competitive price is because this Porsche has been completely repainted and is originally from Mexico. But other than that: low mileage, manual transmission, central wheel nuts and Class 5 Alarm system. And as icing on this fat German cake, an Akrapovic exhaust system that makes every neck hair stand straight up in a 5-kilometre radius. It can also be set to close for the neighbours in the morning. Waar logica toch plaats maakt voor verlangen. Waar lijnen al tijden tijdloos zijn en waar proporties corresponderen met obesitas billen. En dan het ruwe vermogen, wat je tot bijna 9.000 RPM blijft duwen; Tenenkrommend en sodeju, wat gaat dat snel…. Bij ons in het clubhuis is een Porsche al gauw een beetje gewoon. Totdat we kennismaakten met de 997.2 GT3….

De voorkant onthult al dat dit geen “gewone” 911 is . Zodra je langszij loopt verklapt de mooi gevormde strijkplank achterop al het een en ander. Nee Roderick, dat is niet een snelbinder voor de golftas. Dat is downforce, iets wat je écht nodig hebt met dit apparaat! De 3.8 boxer kreeg na de facelift 15 PK extra, wat het totaal optelt naar 450 trappelende paarden uit de Stuttgart stal.

En dan waarom geen GT3 RS? Nou, die van ons kan, indien je alle knopjes op standje ‘braaf’ hebt staan, ook nog gebruikt worden zonder niergordel! Wanneer je het ‘Sport’ knopje omzet, lijkt het alsof de Porsche eindelijk mag doen waarvoor ze echt is gemaakt. Klamme handjes, kriebelende onderbuik en vooral heel veel glimlachen uitdelen. Haar onderstel is dusdanig, dat het uitbreken in een klaverblad voortaan gemakkelijk met je gaspedaal kan.

En dat rationele gedeelte? Onze scherpe prijs komt omdat deze Porsche volledig is overgespoten en oorspronkelijk uit Mexico komt. Maar verder: lage kilometerstand, handgeschakeld, centrale wielmoeren en klasse 5 Alarmsysteem. En als kers op deze dikke Duitse taart, een Akrapovic uitlaatsysteem die iedere nekhaar in een straal van 5 kilometer recht overeind laat staan. Hij kan in de ochtend ook op standje dicht voor de buren. Do we need to say more? We got you covered. Tot snel!
